But if that's what it takes to get your Rage skills, because apparently the developers did not bother to play as Orc on Impossible, then that's just what you have to do.Īt least there IS a way to get to your Rage skills. It also isn't helpful to anyone looking for a no-loss playthrough (which I never cared for myself). I'm sure some may see this as very wasteful - it is. The spiders and snakes have the advantage of not costing you gold, however. I used the spider and snake eggs (collected in the catacombs) to create my "power" stacks, although it's also possible to do it with other troops using the castle reserve slots. Try to make your uncontrollable stacks just big enough to win - just big enough so that by the end of the battle enough of them have died to regain control. It then becomes a matter of mostly avoiding combat with your weak, fast units (let's say imps), while letting your uncontrollable "power" stacks do the fighting - you can assist with fireballs from the sidelines.ĭon't take too many troops into the battle, though, 'cause if they wipe out the enemy stacks and not enough of them have died, it'll be hard to regain control. That's not something we usually do under normal circumstances, right? Well, if the remainder of your troops (who are within your leadership constraints) are fast, you can continually evade your own uncontrollable troop stacks and get them to fight the enemy. Then, inspiration struck: you can bring into a fight massive numbers of troops, far beyond what your leadership would normally allow, but you lose direct control over them. Hell the fight at the Black Gate was already won just barely. Playing on Impossible difficulty (as with all the previous KB games) with the Orc I almost gave up on defeating the three guards in the shelter (managed to beat the first of three normally).
